Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern access to and use of Dexter, Devoids' hosted platform for building, configuring, embedding, and monitoring AI chatbots ("Service"). By creating an account, using the dashboard, embedding the widget on a website, or continuing a chat after accepting the in-widget consent, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you use Dexter on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to the organization.

Dexter provides:

• A web dashboard to create and manage chatbots, API keys, leads, chat history, and analytics.
• An embeddable JavaScript widget that visitors can use to chat with an AI assistant on your website.
• Conversation routing, session management, lead capture tooling, and usage analytics on our infrastructure.

Bring your own AI keys: You connect your own API keys for supported providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and Mistral). Inference costs are billed by your provider under your agreement with them. Dexter does not resell model tokens except where a separate subscription plan explicitly states otherwise.

Dashboard users must provide accurate registration information (such as name, email, and password) and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at devoids.in if you suspect unauthorized access.

Each chatbot is configured by you (the customer). Dexter applies your settings—including custom instructions ("system prompt"), welcome message, temperature, token limits, and connected models—to generate replies. In addition, Dexter appends standard widget instructions so assistants can help with lead capture in a consistent way.

Expected assistant conduct:

• Answer questions in line with your configured personality, scope, and business context.
• Stay helpful and professional; ask one clear follow-up at a time when information is missing, rather than interrogating visitors on casual or FAQ-only messages.
• When a visitor shows genuine interest (pricing, services, booking, or wanting a human), politely collect name and a contact method (email and/or phone) if they want follow-up.
• If an optional contact gate is shown before chat, visitors must accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy to continue. The assistant should not duplicate lead capture via chat when details were already submitted on that gate.

AI limitations: Responses are generated by third-party language models and may be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated. The chatbot is not a human, lawyer, doctor, financial adviser, or emergency service. You must not present it as providing professional, legal, medical, or safety-critical advice without appropriate human oversight and disclaimers on your site.

You agree to:

• Publish your own privacy notice on websites where the widget is embedded and, where required, obtain valid consent from visitors before collecting personal data.
• Configure prompts and knowledge so the bot does not encourage illegal activity, discrimination, harassment, or deception.
• Comply with applicable laws (including marketing, data protection, and AI transparency rules).
• Only embed the widget on domains you control or are authorized to use.
• Keep API keys confidential and rotate them if compromised.

You may not use Dexter to:

• Violate law or third-party rights.
• Distribute malware, spam, or abusive content.
• Attempt to bypass security, rate limits, or access other customers' data.
• Scrape or reverse engineer the Service except as permitted by law.
• Use the platform to build competing products by systematically extracting our software or documentation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose risk to the Service or other users.

Dexter, its branding, software, and documentation are owned by Devoids. You retain ownership of your content (prompts, uploads, and business data). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate the Service.

Chat transcripts and leads belong to you as the customer. Visitors who chat on your site should be informed how you will use their data in your privacy notice.

Paid plans, if offered, are described on our website or in your order. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or explicitly stated. Failure to pay may result in suspension. AI provider usage remains your responsibility.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVOIDS DISCLAIMS WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, ERROR-FREE AI OUTPUT, OR SPECIFIC BUSINESS RESULTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, DEVOIDS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).

You will defend and indemnify Devoids against claims arising from your websites, your chatbot configuration, your handling of visitor data, or your breach of these Terms—except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend access with notice where reasonable, or immediately for material breach or legal requirement. Provisions that by nature should survive (liability limits, indemnity, governing law) will survive termination.

We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may be notified via the dashboard or email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable.
